Bord na Móna Growise Ericaceous Compost is specially formulated for all ericaceous (acid loving/lime hating) species of plants. It is based on high quality sphagnum peat, enriched with readily available forms of all essential plant nutrients and trace elements necessary for all stages of growth of ericaceous plants. Bord na Móna Growise Ericaceous Compost may be used with both indoor and outdoor plants.
Do not allow the compost to dry out but it is also important to avoid water logging of the compost. Never stand pots in water. Bord na Móna Growise Ericaceous Compost contains sufficient plant nutrients to maintain optimum, healthy plant growth for up to 4-6 weeks. After this time, plants in pots and containers should be fed regularly with a liquid plant food, following the manufacturers’ instructions.

Partly fill a pot with compost and place the young plant centrally in the pot, spreading its roots as much as possible. Fill with compost to the top of the pot, firming lightly. Water thoroughly and leave for any excess water to drain.
Partly fill the new, larger pot with compost. Remove the plant from the old pot. Remove as much of the old compost as possible without damaging the roots. Place the plant in the new pot, only slighter deeper than before, and fill the pot with compost, firming lightly. Water thoroughly and leave for any excess water to drain.
Remove as much of the old, loose compost as possible from the top of the pot, without damaging the plant. Replace with new Bord na Móna Growise Ericaceous Compost and firm down gently.
Dig a hole a few inches deeper and wider than the roots of the plant.
Position the plant in the hole and gently fill around the roots using a 50:50 mixture of Bord na Móna Growise Ericaceous Compost and soil. Finally, firm the compost/soil mix around the plant with your heel and water thoroughly.
